Evaluation of chlorophyll content and membrane stability under oxidative stress induced by glyphosate herbicide as indicators of drought tolerance in some advanced durum wheat (Triticum durum L.) lines: in vitro study

نویسندگان

چکیده

Oxidative stress caused by glyphosate is a complex chemical and physiological phenomenon develops as result of overproduction accumulation reactive oxygen species (ROS). This study was carried out in vitro at the National Institute Agronomic Research Algeria (INRAA) Setif, to select most susceptible durum wheat (Triticum L.) under oxidative induced herbicide evaluating chlorophyll content degradation cell membrane leakage. Genotypes showed significant variations almost all studied traits. The loss ratio ranged from 26.42 % for genotype G5 48.75 local variety Boutaleb, sensitivity index values were found be between 0.65-1.2, advanced line tolerant with lowest Glyphosate index. Furthermore, G4 recorded highest electrolyte leakage (80.16 %) while G6 estimate (50.77 %). Therefore, lines appear suitable growing conditions.

Drought is a wide-spread problem seriously influencing durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) production and quality, but development of resistant cultivars is hampered by the lack of effective selection criteria. The objective of this study was to evaluate the ability of several selection indices to identify drought resistance cultivars under a variety of environmental conditions. Twenty four duru...

Evaluation of Agro-Physiological Characteristics and Drought Tolerance in Some of Durum Wheat Breeding Genotypes

In order to study of agronomic, physiological characteristics, drought tolerance and to identify  Agro-physiological traits associated with drought tolerance, 19 durum wheat genotypes consisting of 17 advanced breeding lines and two control cultivars (Saji and Zahab) were evaluated in a randomized complete blocks design with three replicated under both stress (rainfed condition) and non-stress ...

Evaluation of genotype × environment interaction in durum wheat (Triticum turgidum var. durum L.) regional yield trials

The objective of this experiment was to analyze genotype × environment (GE) interaction for grain yield of 20 durum wheat genotypes to identify the yield stability and adaptability of genotypes using GGE biplot method as well as some univariate stability statistics. The genotypes were evaluated in three rainfed stations of Sararood (Kermanshah), Maragheh and Shirvan, Iran under both rainfed and...

an evaluation of different durum wheat (triticum turgidum l.) lines under stress and non-stress conditions

twenty five durum wheat lines were evaluated under drought stress and non-stress conditions employing randomized complete block design of 4 replications. significant differences were observed among the lines for most traits in either stress or non-stress conditions. correlation analysis under non-stress conditions indicated that grains per spike and number of spikes per m2 and while under stres...

Bound Water in Durum Wheat under Drought Stress.

To study drought stress effects on bound water, adsorption isotherms and pressure-volume curves were constructed for two durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) cultivars: Capeiti 8 (drought tolerant) and Creso (drought sensitive). Plants were grown under well-watered and water-stressed conditions in a controlled environment. Differential enthalpy (DeltaH) was calculated through van't Hoff analysis ...
